Tasting Notes: Color, light amber. Aroma, the nose is sweet with notes of honey, vanilla and toasted dried fruit with a sprinkling of black pepper. Taste, soft on the palate with notes of honey, vanilla, fruit cake and pepper with hints of cinnamon. Final, it is of medium persistence, with notes of honey, citrus fruits, cinnamon, ginger and toffee.
The Distillery: The White Oak distillery is located just outside the town of Akashi, in Hyogo prefecture. It was one of the first to receive the state license for the production of spirits (1919) and is especially famous for the production of sake. Akashi is in fact the only whisky in the world produced by a Toji (great master in the art of sake production), who introduced some measures used in sake for the production of this whisky.
