The Champagne Cuvée Brut by Piper-Heidsieck, with a clear personality, is a wine full of liveliness, which teases and seduces from the first taste. Harmonious, delicate without lacking incisiveness, it gives, when tasted, a very pleasant sensation of lightness.

Tasting Notes: A classic, structured, full-bodied and above all fruity champagne. Golden yellow in the glass. Fruit dominates the nose, with pears and apples following. Notes of citrus fruits, dried fruit, fresh grapes and anise emerge. The palate reveals juicy, fleshy pears with grapes. Also a fruity finish with a harmonious balance.


Pairings: This champagne goes very well with fruity desserts and is popular as an aperitif.


The Cellar: Piper-Heidsieck, founded way back in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, is one of the oldest Champagne producers in the world. Florens, in fact, after founding Heidsieck & Cie decided to pursue a dream: that of creating a special cuvée for Marie Antoinette, Queen of France. Once this ambition was realized, the Champagne in question was so appreciated by the queen that she decided to become the first ambassador of Heidsieck's Champagnes. In the following years, the success of the Maison gradually consolidated and its products soon became a must for many Hollywood actors, first and foremost Marilyn Monroe. Today, Piper-Heidsieck, after having enlivened the Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar Night with its Champagnes and after having also linked itself to the world of fashion and luxury, is part of the EPI industrial group, at the top of which we find Christopher Descours and among the rows of his vineyards and those of his suppliers the most characteristic varieties of the Champagne terroir are grown: chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier. The vines, which grow within qualitatively important plots and crus, are carefully monitored in order to constantly obtain excellent bunches and in the cellar, where the different products are assembled, the peculiar identity of each Champagne is literally brought to life. After over two centuries of history, Piper-Heidsieck Champagnes still remain the most famous in the world; the consolidation of this reputation is undoubtedly also due to Chef de Cave Regis Camus who, since 2002, has been awarded eight times as Best Chef de Cave of the year by the International Wine Challenge. Piper-Heidsieck currently produces more than 6 million bottles annually; although all very prestigious, made with great attention to consistency and quality, among the many the Cuvée Rare certainly deserve a mention, true masterpieces, produced only in the best years and, unfortunately, in very small quantities.
