Black Barrel Navy Spiced Rum - AH Riise
 
The Black Barrel by A.H. Riise comes from the American Caribbean island of St. Thomas. Riise entered the scene. An interesting blend of spices makes the Navy Spiced, matured for a long time, a remarkable alcoholic, which surprises with almost Christmassy notes. Also striking is the bottle's shape of the barrel in which this fine creation was matured. The whimsical presentation pays homage to the charred oak barrels in which Black Barrel Navy was left to mature to fully develop its aroma.

Tasting Notes: Walnut brown colour. On the nose, hints of mocha, walnuts and toasted figs emerge. Spicy flavor with notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate.
 
The Distillery: A.H. Riise is located on the island of St. Thomas, an American virgin island in the Caribbean. Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony. The pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only authorized to open a pharmacy around 1840, but also to produce alcohol. His production is based on years of experience, carefully selected spices and long aging in charred oak barrels.
